VIDEOudit help
Frequently asked questions
Find what you need before auditing, from preparing a script to credits and reports.
Scripts and captions
Can I run an audit with only a video URL?
The audit reviews content and possible edits using a script or captions of the actual spoken words and the video information you provide. A URL alone is not enough. Analysis of original video or audio files is not available.
How should I prepare a script or captions?
Paste the text or upload an .srt, .vtt or .txt file. Prepare 30–60,000 characters of script text and include timestamps when possible. A title or description cannot replace the script.
What if captions are missing or cannot be imported automatically?
Enter the words actually spoken in the video or upload a caption file you have. Automatic import can fail depending on public caption availability and YouTube restrictions. Text shown only within the video image does not automatically become a script.
Can I use automatic captions as they are?
Before auditing, check spelling, names, numbers, product names, missing sections and whether the captions match the video. Fill in missing content and preserve timestamps to help locate suggested edits.
Devices and accounts
How do I import captions with the Chrome extension?
Open VIDEOudit and YouTube in desktop Chrome, install the extension, then follow the instructions to select a video and consent to caption import. Review the imported script before running the audit. Connecting a Google channel is optional and is not required for the extension.
Can I use it on a phone or tablet?
On a phone or tablet, paste a script or upload an .srt, .vtt or .txt file. Caption import using the desktop Chrome extension is not available on mobile.
How do I sign up or get an account?
Currently, you log in with an account issued by an administrator. Public sign-up and automatic payments are not available. Contact the service administrator for an account or a plan change.
Plans and credits
What is the difference between Basic and Pro?
Basic provides key editing guidance and a PDF for a new audit. Pro adds deeper explanations, alternatives, action plans and PDF downloads of saved reports. See the plans page for current features and terms.
When are credits used, and what if an audit fails?
One credit is reserved when an audit starts and confirmed when it succeeds. A failed audit restores that credit once, without duplicate restoration. Caption import and PDF generation or repeat downloads use no audit credits.
Check remaining credits in your audit history. If the balance is still incorrect after a failed audit, contact your administrator.
Reports and data
Does a high score guarantee views or higher rankings?
Scores are improvement indicators based on the supplied materials, not YouTube algorithm scores. They do not guarantee views, ranking, retention or AI citations. Where evidence is missing, the report states the review scope and limits.
Where can I find my saved reports?
Reports are stored under the account that ran the audit and can be viewed in that account’s audit history after login. Only submit scripts and information you have permission to use, and leave out sensitive content such as passwords or payment information.
Are audit materials and thumbnails sent to AI?
When you run an audit, the script and video information you provide are sent to OpenAI. Thumbnail image analysis runs only after you separately consent to image transmission on the audit screen. Uploading original video or audio files and server-side speech recognition are not available.
When can I download a PDF?
With Basic, you can download the PDF for 60 minutes after a new audit succeeds, within the same login session. That download permission is no longer valid after logout or expiry. Pro can download PDFs of reports saved in the account again.
Generating or downloading a PDF again does not rerun the AI audit or use credits. The report keeps the plan and review scope used when it was created.
Which languages are supported?
Korean, English, Indonesian and Japanese are supported. Choose a language from the on-screen menu. Reports are created in the language selected for the audit; changing the interface language does not regenerate saved reports. Evidence quotes and suggested wording for the video stay in the original language.
